BILANG bahagi ng National Greening Program ng National Irrigation Administration (NIA) ang Palawan Irrigation Management Office (PIMO) na pinamumunuan ni Division Manager Armando L. Flores katuwang ang nasa tatlumpu’t pitong (37) irrigators associations ng Malatgao, Batang-Batang River Irrigation System o MBBRIS ay nakilahok sa simultaneous tree planting activity.
Ang pagtatanim ng mga puno ay isinagawa sa Sitio Buong, Barangay Dumangueña, Narra, Palawan kung saan 700 seedlings ng mga fruit-bearing at forest tree species ang naitanim.
Ang Department of Agriculture (DA) at Citinickel Mines and Development Corporation (CMDC) ang nagprodyus ng mga itinanim na puno tulad ng langka, kamansi, guyabano, bangkal, narra, ipil, kudling, malamanga, at agoho.
Ang pagtutulungang ito ay bilang paggunita sa 60th founding anniversary ng NIA at pagsuporta sa Executive Order 23 Series of 2011 at EO 193 Series of 2016, isa sa layunin ang pagkakaroon ng sapat na suplay ng pagkain, pagyamanin at pahalagahan ang kagubatan sa watershed area ng Malatgao RIS.
“By actively participating in reforestation efforts, the Palawan IMO and farmers are taking tangible steps towards preserving forests and watersheds crucial for sustaining livelihoods. Moreover, the activity showcases the agency’s holistic approach toward achieving progress and prosperity for present and future generations,” ayon sa NIA Region IV-B.
Tema ngayong taon ng programa ang “Tao, Agrikultura at Kalikasan para sa Progresibong Kaunlaran”.
Kabilang sa mga dumalo sina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – Community Environment & Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Narra Representative Henry Katapang, Western Philippine University (WPU) Director for Extension Services, IA President of NIS Confederation Jibsam Andres, Provincial Mining Regulatory Board (PMRB), opisyales ng Barangay Dumangueña, mga empleyado ng Palawan IMO at mga representante ng 37 IAs ng MBBRIS.
