METRO NEWS | Dumating na sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa ang 500 persons deprived of liberty o PDLs na permanenteng inilipat sa Iwahig Prisons and Penal Farm (IPPF) mula New Bilibid Prison (NBP) sa Lungsod ng Muntinlupa nitong nakalipas na Sabado, Abril 13.
Sa ulat ng Bureau of Corrections, ang paglilipat-PDLs ay bahagi ng decongestion program ng ahensya upang bigyang-daan ang reporma ng kasikipan ng pasilidad mula sa mga naiulat na congested jail facilities sa Pilipinas partikular ang NBP.
“The transfer is part of ensuring that the well-being of these PDLs is properly taken care of, as the decongestion also enhances the focus on reforming them. The PDLs were properly accounted for and turned over by the escort team from NBP and were safely distributed to the different sub-colonies of IPPF,” pagbabahagi ng ahensya.
