Ang National Authority for Child Care (NACC) ng Pilipinas ay nag-host ng Regional Workshop on Sharing Experiences on the Effective Implementation of the 1993 Convention in Asia mula ngayong Marso 11 hanggang 13 na gaganapin sa Maynila.
Layunin ng nabanggit na aktibidad na tasahin ang pagpapatupad ng kapulungan sa Asya at magbahagi ng mga pinakamahusay na kasanayan sa mga kalahok na mga kinatawan ng Asian States Parties to the Convention of the Protection of Children and Co-operation in respect of Intercountry Adoption (1993 Adoption Convention) gaya ng Cambodia, China, India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, at VietNam gayundin ang mga Non-Contracting Party gaya ng Laos at Republic of South Korea.
“We are honored to host the 2025 regional workshop on sharing Experiences on the Effective implementation of the 1993 Adoption Convention in Asia. Upon the signing and ratification of the Convention in 1996, the Philippine Government has taken great strides in ensuring that the best interest of the children is the paramount consideration in adoption,” ani NACC Undersecretary Janella Ejercito Estrada.
“The Philippines’ adoption and alternative child care programs and services are consistent with the principles of the Convention. The provisions of R.A. 11642 or the Domestic Administrative Adoption and Alternative Child Care Act institutionalized safeguard mechanisms to ensure full protection of children’s rights, and that inter-country adoption will only be resorted to after exhaustion of domestic placement,” dagdag ni Estrada.
Tatalakayin sa convention ang mga paksang gaya ng subsidiarity, mga pamamaraan sa pag-aampon, intra-family adoption, mga bawal na gawi sa inter-country adoption, aspetong pinansyal, mga usapin pagkatapos ng adoption, at iba pang HCCH Children’s Conventions.
Ang 1993 Adoption Convention ay isang internasyonal na legal na balangkas na nagpoprotekta sa mga bata at kanilang mga pamilya mula sa mga ilegal na pag-aampon.
Nilalayon din nitong tiyakin na ang mga pag-aampon sa pagitan ng mga bansa ay nasa pinakamahusay na interes ng bata at igalang ang kanilang mga pangunahing karapatan.
Ang kaganapan ay inorganisa ng Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Laws (HCCH) at co-organized ang NACC.
Lumahok din sa kaganapan ang NACC Council, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Philippines, at International Social Services (ISS).
Ang kombensiyong ito ay pinagtibay ng Pilipinas noong taong 1996.
Ang NACC ay isang one-stop na ahensya na bumubuo at nagpapatupad ng mga programa sa adoption, domestic adoption, inter-country adoption, at iba pang anyo ng alternatibong pangangalaga sa bata.
