ANG Puerto Princesa City Water District’s (PPCWD) Management Information System (MIS) Section sa ilalim ng Office of the General Manager Walter Laurel, dinbelop ang isang software na tinatawag na ABACUS.
Ang ABACUS o Advanced Billing and Collection Utility System, isang in-house utility software system na magsisilbing ‘all-in-one program’ para sa billing at collection ng tanggapan, na libreng ipapagamit sa mga interesadong local water districts.
“PPCWD’s in-house utility software system, available free of charge to all interested local water districts in need of an efficient system for their commercial services,” ayon sa impormasyon mula sa City Water District.
Ang inisyatibong ito ay bahagi ng commitment ng ahensya sa pagbibigay ng tulong sa iba pang mga water districts bilang pagtalima sa mandato ng Presidente na paunlarin ang water services sa lahat ng Pilipino.
Ang ABACUS ay mahalagang bahagi ng PPCWD Mobile App upang ma-monitor ng mga konsumidores ang kanilang account status, bayarin, due date notices, maging ang disconnection dates.
Ito ay inilunsad nitong buwan ng Pebrero ngayong taon.
“ABACUS simplifies multiple data and collections processes from data entry to a fast and reliable data exchange with its consumers in full compliance with PPCWD’s utility rules and regulations,” dagdag pa ng pamunuan.
Sa kasalukuyan aabot na sa 5,000 consumers ang nagda-download ng mobile app ng city water district.
