IPINAGDIRIWANG ngayong buwan ng Setyembre ang turismo na may temang Tourism and Green Investments.
Ang pagbubukas ng selebrasyong ito sa Puerto Princesa ay sa pamamagitan ng isang trade fair na ginanap sa isang mall sa lungsod at pinangunahan ni City Tourism Officer Demetrio Alvior at City Councilor Patrick Hagedorn bilang kinatawan ni Punong Lungsod Lucilo Bayron.
Sa mensahe ni Alvior, sinabi nito na ang green investment ay ang estratehiya ng United Nations World Tourism Organization para maghikayat ng mga entrepreneurs na mag-invest sa green tourism tulad ng innovation, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, investment of people, talents, tourism workers o human capital developments.
“Ito ‘yung direksyon of the world tourism– this is to have our mother earth na to address ‘yung globalization, ‘yung global warming to minimize ‘yung carbon dioxide na ini-emit ng ating kapaligiran,” ani Alvior.
Aniya, ang direksyon naman ng Puerto Princesa City Tourism ay maging Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) destination ang lungsod kaya naman patuloy ang kaninang paghikayat sa mga mice groups na rito isagawa sa Puerto Princesa ang kanilang bleisure (business and leisure trips).
“Our direction not only for this year but the overall direction of tourism in the Puerto Princesa, through the leadership of our City Mayor Lucilo Bayron ay unang-una gusto niya maging tourism destination for MICE ang Puerto Princesa that’s why the city starting to invest kung ano ang mga need ng MICE for example we need a lot of convention centers a capacity of 5,000 up to 30,000 so that we can invite not only for the national convention but even in international,” pagbibigay-diin ni Alvior.
Maliban dito, nais din ng lokal na pamahalaan na makilala ang siyudad pagdating sa sports tourism. Katunayan, ngayong taon ay maraming nakalinyang sports event sa Puerto Princesa tulad ng World Table Tennis Championship, Ironman 70.3, Princesa Run at International Dragon Boat Race.
“This is the direction of city government pagdating sa tourism, kaya sa tourism sector this is a very good news sa atin– umpisa na ito ng pag-angat muli ng turismo sa Puerto Princesa kaya hindi ko palalampasin ang araw na ito na hindi ko pasasalamatan ang ating mga partners sa tourism,” dagdag ng opisyales.
