World Table Tennis Youth Contender, Opisyal nang binuksan

PALAWAN, Philippines — OPISYAL nang binuksan ng Philippine Table Tennis Federation, Inc., at City Government of Puerto Princesa ang World Table Tennis Youth Contender 2024 ngayong araw ng Lunes, Abril 29,.

Ito ay pinangunahan nina Mr. Ting C. Ledesma, Event Manager, WTT Youth Contender Puerto Princesa & President, Philippine Table Tennis Federation, Inc., Philippine Sports Commission Representative Diosdado Espinosa Jr., City Mayor Lucilo Bayron, City Sports Director Atty. Rocky Austria, City Councilors, at iba pang opisyales ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan.

Sa mensahe ni Mayor Bayron, labindalawang (12) bansa na kinabibilangan ng Australia, Hongkong, India, Iran, Japan, Maldives, South Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, Taiwan, Singapore at Philippines ang nagpadala ng kani-kanilang pambato para sa naturang patimpalak.

Aniya, ang mga manlalaro, coaches, magulang, at game officials ang tumatayong “heart” at “soul” ng WTTYC.

“To the players, coaches, parents and game officials — you are the heart and the soul of this event. Your journey to this championship is a testament to your passion for table tennis as you compete on this international stage you are not just representing your countries but you are uniting the table tennis community as well embrace the spirit of fair play, friendship, sportsmanship for these are the values that makes champion both on and off the table.

Goodluck to all the players, may the championship be a journey of a lifetime. We all hope you have a wonderful time in the city during your short stay with us.

Ayon naman kay Ledesma, ngayong WTTYC 2024 mas dumami ang mga banyagang bansa na nakilahok sa aktibidad na ito na isang patunay na patuloy ang paglaki ng komunidad ng mga manlalaro sa larangan ng table tennis.

Matatandaan, buwan ng Oktubre nakaraang taon unang naging host city ang Puerto Princesa ng WTTYC at sa loob lamang ng anim na buwan muling napili ang lungsod na pagdausan ng nabanggit na patimpalak.

“As Puerto Princesa City host the WTTYC for the second time in a span of six months — never in our wildest dream we thought this was possible.

We reflect on the challenges we faced last year and how we overcome to deliver an exceptional event, not only we excel in hosting but our Philippine athletes also achieve remarkable results,” ani Ledesma.

Ang Philippine Table Tennis Federation, Inc., ay nakatutok sa pagpapakilala ng table tennis sa buong bansa at ang World Table Tennis Youth Contender Series ay isang ideal platform sa paghubog ng mga atleta na ipakita ang kanilang talento sa paglaro nito.

Layunin nito na makapagtaguyod ng pagkakaibigan at camaraderie sa mga kabataan.

Payo naman ni Espinosa sa mga kabataan na patuloy na mangarap dahil walang imposible kung sasamahan ito ng tiyaga at determinasyon.

“To the youth and athlete keep on dreaming high because there is nothing impossible with your perseverance, determination and your passion.

It’s not about who gets gold, silver or bronze medals — it is a matter of who gain the experiences and build camaraderie and sportsmanship”.
