MATAGUMPAY ang isinagawang Rotation at Resupply (RoRe) mission ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa Ayungin Shoal sa kabila ng pagtatangka ng China Coast Guard at Chinese Maritime Militia (CMM) vessels na harangan ang dalawang (2) supply boats ng Pilipinas, kahapon, ika-22 ng Agosto 2023.
Batay sa pahayag ng National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS), maayos ang paghahatid ng suplay sa mga nakatalagang military personnel sa BRP Sierra Madre dahil sa pinagsamang-puwersa ng AFP at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
“[T]he Philippine supply ships Unaizah May 1 and Unaizah May 2, escorted by the PCG [Philippine Coast Guard] vessels BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) and BRP Sinadangan (MRRV-4407), successfully completed their RoRE mission,” pahayag ng Bantay WPS.
Binigyang-diin din ng NTF-WPS na patuloy ang routine missions sa lahat ng outposts ng bansa na nakatalaga sa Kanlurang Karagatan ng Pilipinas.
Anila, ang misyon ay bahagi ng “legitimate exercise” ng Gobyerno ng Pilipinas sa administrative functions nito sa WPS na nakabatay sa United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), 2016 Arbitral Award, at domestic laws.
Pinuri naman ng NTF-WPS sa pangunguna ni Security Adviser Eduardo M. Ano ang ipinamalas na “unfailing valor, determination, and professionalism” ng mga tauhan ng armed forces at coast guard.
“The Filipino people owe them a debt of gratitude for their commitment to place their lives on the line daily to defend our sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction throughout the expanse of the WPS,” dagdag ng ahensya.
