BINUKSAN na sa publiko ngayong araw ng Huwebes, Pebrero 1 ang National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) Tabon Cave Complex and Lipuun Point sa Quezon, Palawan.
Bago ang soft opening nagkaroon muna ng misa para basbasan ang bagong atraksyon sa munisipyo. Ito ay dinaluhan nina NMP Director- General Jeremy R. Barns, Palawan Governor Victorino Dennis Socrates, Second District Representative Jose Alvarez, Municipal Mayor Joselito Ayala, mga estudyante at iba pang mga opisyales ng lokal na pamahalaan.
Ayon kay NMP Director- General Jeremy R. Barns ang museum na ito ay mayroong apat (4) na galleries na binubuo ng Cradle of Heritage, Surviving Heritage, Bituun at Stories of Origins kung saan nagpapakita ang Palawan bilang ‘cradle of our country’s heritage’.
“Quezon Palawan adds luster to the already shining reputation of Palawan as it becomes the source of pride not only for the Philippines but also a focal point for archaeology and biodiversity in Southeast Asia and beyond. We envision the whole of Tabon Cave Complex to be a hub for appreciation of our identity as a Filipino’s,” binigyang diin pa Direktor.
Ang museum ay bukas sa publiko simula araw ng Martes hanggang Linggo. Alas nuwebe ng umaga (9:00 am) hanggang alas singko ng hapon (5:00 pm). Wala itong entrance fee kaya pakiusap ng pamunuan sundin ang kanilang mga alituntuning ipinatutupad.
Samantala, nagpasalamat naman ang Direktor sa pamahalaang panlalawigan at lokal na pamahalaan ng bayan ng Quezon dahil kaisa ito sa pagpreserba ng yaman at kultura ng mga Pilipino para sa mga susunod pang henerasyon.
