Mayroon ng MAKABATA Helpline 1383 sa Palawan para sa proteksyon at kailanga sa mga bata.
Nitong nakalipas na Lunes, Hulyo 6, lumagda sa isang Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Palawan at ang Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) upang isulong ang pagtatatag ng MAKABATA Helpline 1383 para sa pangangalaga at pagprotekta sa mga bata.
Nilagdaan ang MOU nina Governor Amy Roa Alvarez at Undersecretary Angelo M. Tapales, Executive Director ng Council for the Welfare of Children. Nagsilbing mga saksi sina Atty. David John S. Vergara ng CWC at Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Abigail D. Ablaña.
Layunin ng MOU na magkaroon ng isang coordinative mechanism sa pagpapatupad ng MAKABATA Helpline 1383. Dapat ding maging central reporting system ang helpline, sa mga kaso ng Children in Need of Special Protection (CNSP). Makakatulong din ito para maging isang batayan sa paggawa ng mga polisiya at programa para sa child protection.
Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, magsasagawa ng regular na coordination meetings ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Palawan at ang CWC upang talakayin ang matagumpay na pagpapatupad ng MAKABATA Helpline 1383.
Pinasasalamatan ni Gov. Amy Alvarez ang CWC para sa MAKABATA Helpline 1383.

Child abuse is one of the biggest problems because it is the fundamental thing that shapes who they are as a person. Through the MAKABATA Helpline 1383, we are strengthening our commitment to ensure that every child has someone to turn to. More importantly, this initiative affirms every child’s right to protection and empowers families and communities,” ani Gov. Alvarez.
Dumalo rin sa seremonya ng MOU si Palawan Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Loida P. Adornado ng Department of Education (DepEd). Hinikayat siya ni Governor Alvarez na tiyaking maipalaganap ang impormasyon tungkol sa MAKABATA Helpline 1383.
