Bayron: dumoble ang bilang ng mga atleta

Inihayag kamakailan ni City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron na nasa dalawampung bansa ang dumayo sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa para sa kasalukuyang World Table Tennis (WTT) Youth Contender sa lungsod.
Sa ulat ng tanggapan ng alkalde, dumoble ang bilang ng mga atleta mula sa 20 bansa. Pumalo sa 426 athletes ang dumalo para sa palaro.
“This is already our 4th year here, and we are seeing the trend going up, right? Double the participants from last year’s. It only goes to show that the Sports Tourism thrust of the City Government of Puerto Princesa has been very fruitful now,” pahayag ni WTT International Referee Rachel DL Ramos.
Dalawampung bansa rin ang lalahok sa WTT Feeder Series Puerto Princesa 2026, na kauna-unahang idaraos sa Pilipinas.
Ang Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa ang muling napiling mag-host ng nasabing international sporting competition.
“Puerto Princesa is becoming not only a tourism destination but also a major sports destination. Malaking bagay para sa city na [r]ito hino-host ’yan (WTT) kasi, siyempre, ’yung image natin nabi-build-up. Nare-recognize tayo at ’yung mga pumupunta rito they will be saying good words about the city na safe doon, maganda doon. Makakatulong sa tourism natin,” paliwanag ni Bayron.
“We are always here to assist and provide solutions to the concerns of the organizers […] I am happy because the number of participants doubled. It just goes to show that the trust and confidence in Puerto Princesa as a host is really there,” pahayag naman ni City Sports Director Atty. Rocky Austria.
