Sino ang nagmamay-ari ng lupa ng Aborlan Central School?

Kinakatok ni Board Member Rafael Ortega Jr. ang opisina ng Department of Education (DepEd) sa katauhan ni Secretary Edgardo “Sonny” Angara para wakasan na ang pag-aaway sa kung sino ba talaga ang tunay na nagmamay-ari ng Aborlan Central School (ACS).
Hindi katiyakan ang kinakaharap ng ACS ngayon pagdating sa legal status ng eswelahan, kahit pa naglabas na naglabas na ng deklarasyon ang legal na departamento ng DepEd na nagsasabing ang ACS ay nasa ilalim na ng DepEd simula pa noong 1942.
“The resolution of this ownership dispute is imperative to safeguard the uninterrupted delivery of quality education, uphold the constitutional mandate of accessibility, and foster institutional cooperation between the Department of Education and Western Philippines University,” ayon kay Ortega.
Ayon sa DepEd Memorandum No. OULLA-2026-2432 na nagmula sa Office of the Undersecretary for Legal and Legislative Affairs na kinakatawan ni Atty. Filemon Ray Javier, ang ACS ay nasa ilalim na ng DepEd simula pa noong 1942.
“In the said memorandum, Undersecretary Javier emphasized that the Department of Education has been lawful possession of the subject property since 1942 for educational purposes as the school site of Aborlan Central School, as evidenced by a Tax Declaration in the name of the Department of Education, and further noted that there exists no sufficient or competent proof establishing Western Philippines University’s ownership over Lot No. 598, the property in question,” ayon din kay Ortega.
Tinawag na rin ang atensiyon nina DepEd MIMAROPA Regional Director Ronnie S. Mallari, at Schools Division Superintendent ng Palawan na si Loida P. Adornado, hinggil sa inilabas ng memorandum ng DepEd.
Damay sa panawagan kay Angara ang Provincial Government ng Palawan para sa impormasyon, gabay, at kauukulang aksyon nito.
Sinang-ayunan din ang panawagan ng Provincial Board ng Palawan.
Si Ortega ang ulo ng Committee on Basic Education ng Provincial Board.
