Tulong vs. hog raisers ng Agutaya

Ini-urge at hinihiling ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Palawan (SP-Palawan) ang paghahandog ng tulong-pangkabuhayan sa mga magbababoy na naapektuhan ng swine-culling na isinagawa dahil sa kaso ng American Swine Fever (ASF) sa Barangay Concepcion, Agutaya.

Nakatuon ang kahilingan ng SP-Palawan para sa Office of the Governor at mga angkop ng opisina ng gobyerno, sa ilalim ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Palawan.

Ayon sa resolusyon ni Board Member Winston G. Arzaga, habang kailangan ang swine-culling para maproteksyunan ang iba pang hayop mula sa pagkahawa sa ASF, nag-resulta pa rin ito sa malaking pagkawala ng kabuhayan sa mga magbababoy na naapektuhan nito.

“There is therefore an urgent need for the Provincial Government to extend immediate and meaningful livelihood assistance to affected hog raisers so that they may recover their income and provide for their families while restrictions relating to ASF remain in effect,” ayon kay Arzaga sa kanyang inakdaang resolusyon na nanawagan ng pagbibigay ng ‘emergency livelihood assistance’.

“The Provincial Government, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Agriculturist’s Office (PAO) and other appropriate offices, may coordinate with the Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Industry, Agricultural Credit and Policy Council, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry and other concerned agencies to mobilize available assistance and livelihood programs,” ayon din kay Arzaga.

Ang mga kwalipikadong benipisyaryo ay maaring makatanggap ng: Poultry or other livestock livelihood projects, when legally and technically permissible; fishing and other marine-based livelihood assistance; agricultural inputs for crop production; small-scale food processing or microenterprise assistance; livelihood starter kits and tools; and other appropriate income-generating projects na naayon sa Provincial Government matapos makipag-usap sa mga naapektuhang indibidwal.
