Illegal logging, nasawata sa Suwangan, Quezon

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — Nasawata ng mga tauhan ng Coast Guard Station Western Palawan ang operasyon ng iligal logging sa Sitio Marirong, Brgy. Suwangan, bayan ng Quezon nitong Pebrero 7, 2024.

Sa ikinasang joint law enforcement ng CGS Western Pal, Bantay Dagat, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Group, at mga opisyal ng barangay, napag-alaman ang ‘illegal mangrove logging’ sa lugar dahil sa natanggap na intelligence report.

“Approximately 15 cubic meters of illegally felled mangrove trees were discovered, but no suspects were apprehended at the scene,” pahayag ng ahensya.

Samantala, magpapatuloy ang imbestigasyon ng DENR Quezon upang mahuli at mapanagot ang mga taong nasa likod ng malawakang pamumutol ng mga bakawan sa lugar.

“The joint effort highlights the commitment of these agencies to combat environmental crimes and preserve Palawan’s natural heritage,” dagdagng pamunuan ng CGS Western Palawan.
