Roblox, iba pang online games, ipagbabawal

Sa aprubadong inakdaang resolusyon ni Board Member Al-Nashier M. Ibba, nanawagan ngayon ang Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Palawan (SP-Palawan) na ipagbawal o limitahan ang paggamit ng mga online games na mapanganib sa mga menor de edad kagaya ng Roblox.
Maganda daw ito kung maipapasa, sabi ni Ibba.
Hindi na rin raw makontrol ang mga kabataan dahil sa akses nila sa mga larong may posibleng dalang panganib.
May mga bansa na raw na opisyal nang ipinagbawal ang paglaro ng Roblox kagaya ng China at Russia.
Hindi rin daw nakatutulong ang mga naturang laro sa pag-aaral ng mga kabataan.
Ayon kay Ibba, ang paglaki ng mga online games ay nagbibigay sa mga menor de edad ng pagkakataon na makisalamuha sa mga taong hindi nila kilala, nagbibigay ng akses sa mga hindi akmang content, nage-expose sa kanila sa manipulasyon at grooming, at ginagawa silang biktima ng sexual exploitation sa internet, cyberbullying, fraud, at iba pang uri ng pang-aabuso.
Ayon din kay Ibba, hindi pa mature ang mga bata sa mga naturang laro sa internet.
“Children may not possess sufficient maturity, judgment, or capacity to recognize and avoid online grooming, manipulation, coercion, cyberbullying, fraudulent schemes, sexual exploitation, and other harmful online conduct,” pahayag niya.
“Effective child protection in the digital environment therefore requires not only parental supervision but also enforceable obligations upon online gaming platforms, internet service providers, digital payment providers, and other entities that facilitate children’s access to online gaming platforms,” ayon din sa kanya.
Kailan daw ng malinaw na pambansang polisiya para sa mga nilalaro ng mga bata.
“The Sangguniang Panlalawigan believes that the protection of children requires a precautionary approach whereby online games and platforms that cannot demonstrate adequate safeguards for minors should be subject to age restrictions, access limitations, or prohibition for users below the legally prescribed age,” pahayag ni Ibba.
Ang panawagang ito ay nilalaman ng resolusyon ni Ibba na may pamagat na “A resolution urging the Senate of the Philippines and The House of Representatives to enact legislation providing for the prohibition or restriction of minors’ access to Roblox and other online games that pose serious risks to the safety, welfare, and development of children, and directing the establishment of strict age-verification, parental-control, content-moderation, and platform-accountability mechanisms”.
